Nearly twenty five years when the first grandchild arrived I began a few tentative drawings to accompany Edward Lear’s magnificent nonsense poem ‘The Owl & the Pussycat’. I returned to the project each time a new grandchild was born. Over the years some drawings were abandoned or became part of something else. Several grandchildren later the complete sequence has finally been published.
